Sadly, I don’t think there’s space in the calendar this year to reschedule the race

Hi Jan, I’m in a similar position. I arrived in Bologna on Wednesday morning. I was due to work at the race this weekend with F1 Experiences.
It was the right decision to cancel the race, and I think the timing was unavoidable – things looked ok on Tuesday morning, but really got much worse throughout the day and early on Wednesday. F1 would have made things much worse if they had waited longer to cancel the event.
Yes, I’m expecting fans to get a full (or close to full refund) on tickets, but depends where you bought from, and I think it could take some time for refunds to be processed. As for the rest of your costs, I assume you have travel insurance? For sure, you should be looking to make a claim for flight and accommodation costs.

I think we need to be patient for news about refunds, but yes – you can expect a refund. How long this will take I don’t know. It also depends on where you bought the tickets. You will not get a refund probably for any transaction fees etc, which you paid when purchasing the tickets.

It is a pity that the decision to cancel the raceweekend was taken on wednesday afternoon and not yesterdayevening. I checked the news this morning before leaving to the airport. Although it is a logical step to cancel this event when you see the floods and the disaster in the whole region. I hope the fans will get a full refund for the ticket. I had to reschedule my flight back home at a extra cost of 550 euro and my hotel was also already paid for 6 nights. Whether i will get my money back is a big question. As a diehard F1 fan since more than 30 years and doing one or two f1 trips a year this situation and late decision gives me a really bad feeling not being able to see live f1 racing this weekend and an on top of that an empty wallet.

Are we able to get our money back for those who bought tickets ??
