What can I say, Baku is a cheap destination! I’m hoping to attend the race as well. Second try after my trip in 2020 was cancelled. The more difficult aspect is getting good flight connections to Baku, but it’s cheap on the ground.

I am looking at attending the race and looking at accommodation online I cannot believe how cheap most of the hotels/apartments are around the track! Is there a reason for that? Because 4 days in a hotel is coming out at about £200 which just doesn’t seem right?! Regards, Ross

Hi James, for finding an apartment overlooking the circuit, I’m really not sure. I suggest checking Airbnb and contacting the owners to ask. Marie Misso, who wrote a 2017 Azerbaijan GP trip report for us, stayed in Don Dar Hotel last year with a room overlooking the circuit. As for grandstands, the views are not fantastic from any of them to be honest. I’d go for Icheri Sheher, with a view of the old city walls.
